Commute time and travel cost estimator (sector to office hub)
Before you shortlist a society, check what the daily commute will cost in time and money. This estimator uses the straight-line distance between the centre of your sector and the office hub, converts it to a typical NCR road distance, and applies peak and off-peak average speeds for car, two-wheeler and metro. It is a planning estimate, not a live traffic route; use Google Maps at 9 am on a weekday for the final check.

How it is calculated
Road distance ≈ straight-line distance × 1.35 + 1.5 km (typical NCR network detour). Time = road distance ÷ average speed + a fixed parking or last-mile allowance (5 min car/bike, 18 min metro); average speeds used: car 22 km/h peak and 35 off-peak, two-wheeler 26/34, metro 30 door to door including waits. Cost per km: fuel price ÷ mileage plus ₹1.2 (car) or ₹0.4 (bike) for maintenance and tolls; cab ₹14 per km; metro fare ₹20–60 plus ₹60 of autos per trip. All are planning averages; the page states them so you can adjust.
Worked example
Sector 16C Greater Noida West (Gaur City) to Sector 62 Noida: about 5.3 km straight line, 8.6 km by road, roughly 29 minutes by car at peak; 22 office days cost about ₹3,000 a month in petrol and wear, and about 21 hours a month in transit. The same sector to Cyber City Gurugram is about 50 km by road and over 2 hours each way at peak.
Frequently asked questions
How long is the commute from Greater Noida West to Sector 62?
Roughly 30–45 minutes by car at peak for most of Noida Extension (Gaur City, Sector 16C/16B), 20–25 minutes off-peak; the Aqua Line metro plus an auto takes about 35–45 minutes.
Which Noida sectors are best for a Gurugram commute?
Sectors along the Noida Expressway and south Noida (Sectors 93–168) give the shortest Cyber City run via the DND and NH-48, still 60–90 minutes at peak; Greater Noida West adds another 30 minutes.
Is this a live traffic estimate?
No. It uses straight-line distance and average NCR speeds, stated above; check Google Maps at your actual departure time before deciding, and allow for the proposed Greater Noida West metro extension if you plan to use it.
