Land filling / excavation (cut and fill) volume and cost calculator

Low-lying plots in Greater Noida West and Ghaziabad often need filling of 2–4 ft before construction; basements need excavation. Both are priced per cubic metre or per truck load, and fill needs 20–25% extra for compaction. The tool converts your plot and depth into loads and cost.

How it is calculated

volume = area × depth (converted to m³). Fill: order volume = in-place × (1 + compaction %), since loose soil settles 15–25% when compacted. Cut: hauled volume = in-place × (1 + bulking %), since excavated soil swells. Loads = ceil(volume ÷ truck capacity); cost = loads × rate per load + volume × spreading rate.

Worked example

200 gaj (1,800 sq ft) plot filled 3 ft: 153 m³ in place, 187 m³ to order with 22% compaction, 19 loads of 10 m³ at ₹2,500 = ₹47,500 plus ₹15,000 for spreading, about ₹62,500 or ₹35 per sq ft.

Frequently asked questions

How many truck loads of soil for a 200 gaj plot?

About 19 loads of 10 m³ for 3 ft of fill, including compaction allowance; a tractor trolley of 3.5 m³ would need around 53 trips.

How much does land filling cost in Noida?

Roughly ₹2,000–3,500 per 10 m³ tipper load delivered in 2026, depending on distance and soil; spreading and compaction add ₹60–100 per m³.

Why order more soil than the volume?

Loose fill compacts by 15–25% when rolled, so 100 m³ in place needs about 120 m³ delivered.
